Jeevan Raksha Padak
The Jeevan Raksha Padak is an award conferred for acts of courage and humanity in saving lives during incidents like drowning, accidents, fires, electrocution, natural calamities, or rescue operations.
 Types of Awards and Allowances:
Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak:
For extraordinary courage under life-threatening conditions.
Monetary allowance: ₹2,00,000.
 Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak:
For significant courage under dangerous conditions.
Monetary allowance: ₹1,50,000.
 Jeevan Raksha Padak:
For bravery under circumstances involving bodily risk.
Monetary allowance: ₹1,00,000.

Eligibility and Presentation:
Open to all, regardless of profession or gender.
Includes police, paramilitary, and other personnel.
Can be awarded posthumously.
Recipients receive a medallion, a certificate signed by the Union Home Minister, and a medal replica (not for posthumous awards).

Additional Information:
Recommendations are reviewed within two years by the JRP Awards Committee, which forwards them to the Prime Minister and President.
Once rejected, cases are not reconsidered.
No additional benefits like transport concessions are provided apart from the one-time monetary allowance.
