Big Bang Theory:
The Big Bang theory is related to the origin of the Universe. The theory was propounded by Georges Lemaitre (1894-96).
According to this theory, whole universe was concentrated on a hot and dense point some 15 billion years ago. Due to high concentration, there was a sudden explosion which was termed as Big Bang. After its initial expansion, the universe cooled sufficiently to allow the formation of subatomic particles, and later atoms. These primordial elements—mostly hydrogen, with some helium and lithium—later coalesced through gravity, forming early stars and galaxies. The Big Bang theory is supported by a wide range of empirical evidence, including the cosmic microwave background radiation, the abundance of light elements, and large-scale structure.
Later in 1967, Robert Wagoner explained this theory.
Robert Wagoner, a physicist known for his contributions to the development of Big Bang Nucleosynthesis. In a paper published in 1967, Wagoner and his colleagues presented an expression for the temperature of the early universe as a function of time in the high temperature limit. However, this expression was later found to be incorrect, and a corrected form for the initial conditions required for calculating the formation of the primordial elements in the Big Bang was presented.
